COVID changed lives last year. People found themselves working from home, wearing masks, and being limited in how they accessed their daily needs. Travel plans were canceled, or dramatically altered. People discovered the outdoors in explosive numbers. Boats, RVs, camping and fishing equipment flew off the shelves as everyone was desperate to experience freedom from being confined.

As people explored outdoor activities, they found themselves surrounded by others on the same quest. Campsites were at capacity, and anglers struggled to find a place to wet a line that wasn’t overrun with competing anglers on most rivers and lakes. These were unusual times, and we all needed to escape.

You can find great locations for fishing almost anywhere in Colorado, and most anglers knows of these locations and fish there regularly. Trout Seeker wants to give you a different experience. We want you to have the opportunity to engage your senses, to tune out whatever you have going on in your life, and connect with nature. Smell the pine trees, hear the birds around you, squirrels announcing your arrival to their area, the beauty of wildflowers, and best of all…the sound of a small stream as it makes its way down to the lake below.

Contained in that small mountain stream you will find Brook Trout. This beautiful fish is not hatchery bred and typically small in size, but will prove itself to be a formidable opponent. You must be quiet in your approach and able to blend in with the scenery to get close to your prey. If you make too much noise, or if you are seen, the fish scatter quickly and you have no choice but to move on. Although Brook Trout are prevalent here, Tiger Trout, and a few big Brown Trout have been found in this stream. You never know what you will find!
